This week, I filled in for Jojo on her afternoon show and had an absolute blast interacting with all of our amazing listeners. Watch out, Jojo, Joel-Joel is coming for your show!
While filling in, I couldn’t help but look back and think of my interview at Lifesongs. I nervously walked in dressed to the tee, and braved a tropical storm at the time to make it. That was a little over a year ago. I remember walking out thinking, “God, if there’s anything for me; if there’s anything you want me to do, this is it.” And sure enough, I received an email shortly after congratulating me on becoming apart of the team!
But I didn’t become apart of a team, I became apart of a family. A wonderful, extravagant, unique family. Not just all of the incredible people that work here in Mrs. Pat, Julie, Josh, Libby, Jojo, Mrs. Nancy, Jasmine, Adam & Vance; but almost more so the incredible supporters and listeners, who are also apart of this family. Every time a Shareathon rolls around, I am bewildered (in a good way) at all of the love this station receives from its incredible listeners and supporters.
In retrospect, when I look back at that golden email welcoming me aboard, I realize I didn’t get a job. This isn’t a job. This is a family. A family that I’m privileged and proud to be apart of.
Thank you, family, for one of the best years of my life.
