Where do you find your identity? Is it as a mom? A husband? An employee? A New Orleanian? Our true identity can be found in who we are in Christ. Once we’ve been brought into the family of God, we are identified by who He says we are, and that’s an identity of someone who is a child of God, loved, and one who is free. Hillsong Worship was inspired to write their latest song, “Who You Say I Am,” as a reminder of that, based on John 8.
Citizen Way (along with their pal, Bart Millard of MercyMe), have fun singing about our Savior in their latest jam, “WaveWalker.” It’s a song about taking a step of faith, despite how scary that might feel. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we can step out of that boat just like Peter did. We can take what might feel like a risk, because we know God is faithful when we follow where He leads. Have we found a new #songofsummer, perhaps?
What’s on your summer reading list? Tauren Wells says a quote from author and pastor Timothy Keller stood out to him. “To be loved and not known is comforting but superficial, to be known but not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and fully loved is a lot like being loved by God.” This quote inspired Tauren’s latest song, “Known,” which reminds us of the amazing truth that God sees us in our entirety and yet still loves us fully, because of His great grace.
