When someone in our family is sick, it’s tough. But when that sickness is something life-threatening? It’s devastating. Last year, two year old Jaxon, son of Bethel Music’s Joel Taylor, was fighting for his life in a hospital after being hospitalized with Hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS) caused by an E. coli infection. As a result of the illness his kidneys shut down, he began to have seizures, along with other life-threatening complications.
During this time, Joel shared “Miracles don’t always look exactly like you want them to. God’s timing often doesn’t make sense until you look back to see that mountains were climbed and canyons were crossed on no strength of your own, and in that place, when God becomes your only option, you learn that it’s a gift that will mark you forever.”
So many people around the world joined in prayer for little Jaxon and the Taylor family, and, thankfully, God healed Jaxon!
Jonathan and Melissa Helser of Bethel Music wrote the song “Raise a Hallelujah” in response to this difficult time that the family went through. If you find yourself going through your own storms of fear and unbelief, let it become your anthem, too.
We all experience chaos and hurt and pain in life, and it can feel hard to breathe when all of our thoughts are shouting at us at once. But God is crafting a beautiful masterpiece in the midst of that. That’s the message behind Switch’s song, “Symphony.” Romans 8:28 reminds us that all things work together for the good of those who love God. So, no matter what we face in this life, God is working together His beautiful master plan – a symphony.
