Amen. It’s one of the most commonly used words in all of the Bible. It’s also the title of Micah Tyler’s song. He says, “I’ve stuck it at the end of prayers thanking God for my food and when I tuck my kids in at night, but the word AMEN is not just the signal to let us know it’s ok to start eating our dinner. It’s a beautiful and significant way to agree and affirm the promises and authority of God! In the Bible, AMEN is used over and over again to mean: to take care, to be faithful, reliable, established, or to believe someone or something. It’s used all the way until the end and is the very last word in the book Revelation. I wanted to write a song that celebrates the trust God has built inside of me and also to praise Him for what He is still yet to do in my life. I will never be able to get over the fact that I am loved and thought of by the God of the universe! All I can say day in and day out is simply… AMEN.” -Micah Tyler
Sometimes God will lead you down a road that doesn’t seem rational and doesn’t “make sense” — but if you follow His voice, you’ll find that in all His goodness, He has something good for you up His sleeve. Jenn Johnson of Bethel Music was inspired to write this song following the adoption of her fourth son. Sing along in gratitude for the goodness of God that chases us down, even in the midst of difficult and overwhelming circumstances.
