I’m ready for jeans, boots, hot chocolate, hoodies, Holidays and cozyness…
I saw this sign recently and it made my heart smile to read it !! A wonderful list of my favorite things about fall, which is why Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.
“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall”. – F. Scott Fitzgerald
In the fall, I feel like life can slow down a little and I can get focused again on change and growth after all the busyness of summer. Instead of becoming frustrated by the shortening days, and the more active part of the storm season, I see it as a sign to slow down, to retreat, to gather, review, to rest and get ready for growth. I get so inspired to initiate change in my life – and change anything that is keeping me stuck.
The change of seasons can be an exciting time, filled with annual activities and holidays that we look forward to experiencing. It can also be unsettling if we let worries of the unknown cloud our perspective.
When change appears on the horizon, here are three Bible verses to remind us to keep our eyes on God and the comfort His unchanging promises bring.
“As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” Genesis 8:22
The consistency of the earth’s seasons is a reflection of its Maker and the steadiness of His character.
James 1:17-19 tells us that: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
Our Father cares for every one of His creations, from the littlest sparrow to the mightiest lion. And He calls us more precious than these. We can rest assured in any time of uncertainty that His love and provision for us will never fail.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1
This is my time to look at my journey, and just as the trees let go of their leaves, this is my time to let go as well. I can allow myself the time to rest and capture my thoughts….maybe that is something that you might like to do as well.
Questions I Like To Ask Myself
- What is it time to let go of?
- Where do I need to slow down in my life?
- What new opportunities for growth will I embrace this season?
I encourage you to slow down enough to listen to yourself. Whatever changes are calling you this season, honor them.
If it’s your diet: enjoy the bounty of nature’s harvest available in the fall. If it’s your need to move more and get exercise: be grateful that the heat of the summer has died down and it’s easier to be outside and enjoy nature. If you need to rest more: this is the time to start now that the busyness of summer is gone.
Whatever it is, welcome that change into your life. Use this change in seasons to let go of what’s not working and start making some changes that you know are needed.
Happy Fall Yall!
