Everyone likes to hear a “thank you” every once in awhile, right? Imagine having a rough day at work, driving home in traffic, and someone tries to merge into your lane. When they smile at you through the rear view mirror and give a quick wave to say thanks for letting them in, doesn’t it make you feel somehow even just a little bit better? Or when you do finally get home and manage to get some semblance of dinner on the table, and your family says thank you for cooking (or, in my case, for ordering pizza, ha)? It’s nice to hear it. Helpful, even.
“I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you.” -Romans 1:8
We’re always trying to instill in our kids the importance of manners, and expressing gratitude is such a huge part of that! In fact, maybe your kids could use the encouraging “thank you” when they do something without being asked. Our teachers, especially this year with every challenge under the sun coming at them, could certainly benefit from the encouragement a “thank you” can give. And how about our pastors? Navigating virtual church and keeping up with their church families many needs this year has surely not been easy.
“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers.” -1 Thessalonians 1:2
Acknowledging our appreciation is such a simple thing we can do – and it can really have such an impact on the recipients! The Bible is full of examples of gratitude. THANK YOU. Two simple words that go a long way.
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you.” -Philippians 1:3
Maybe you haven’t heard it enough lately, so listen closely: THANK YOU!
This has not been an easy year for any of us. For managing to keep your family sane, THANK YOU. For juggling working from home and schooling your kids at home, too, THANK YOU. For being kind and gracious to those around you, THANK YOU. For loving others, for praying for healing in our nation and our world, THANK YOU. For keeping a positive outlook, even on difficult days, and sharing that with others, THANK YOU. For sharing the hope we have in Jesus with our community, THANK YOU. And for your support for this ministry, THANK YOU! Your generosity means so much to us. We couldn’t do this without you, and we wouldn’t want to.
This week is our Fall Shareathon, one of two major fundraisers we have each year to keep LifeSongs funded. Would you please keep us in your prayers? I’m so grateful we get to be part of this LifeSongs family together, and that we can do so with grateful hearts. THANK YOU!! (Pass it on!)
