Ah, August! Summer is coming to an end and the smell of new school shoes is in the air.
Growing up I LOVED the First Day of School. I loved everything about it the new teachers, new school supplies, and the possibility of making new school friends.
I have not been in school for 3.5 years now, but I still get giddy around this time of the year. The first half of the year is now over and I often times find myself longing to reset and restart.
Maybe you are different from me and you do not think of a new start 8 months into the year. Maybe the first part of your year was hard and troublesome for you. I want you to know your year does not have to end the way it started. So do not write this year off as “not your year” or “another disappointment”.
Choose to hope today.
Wherever we search for hope in this world we will not find it. Putting our hope in medicine, politics, our career, or the stock market will never bring true hope that each human heart longs for.
Today put your hope solely in Jesus. Jesus is longing to do a new thing inside of you. He secured hope for you when He finished the work on the cross. Remember that God is with you always and He alone is your hope, not your circumstances or the outcome.
I want to leave you with a quote by Charles Spurgeon, it says,
“Don’t you know that day dawns after night, showers displace drought, and spring and summer follow winter? Then, have hope! Hope forever, for God will not fail you!”
