In The Waiting | Libby

Waiting is not easy. (Any Gerald & Piggie fans out there?) This is the title of a children’s book my son loves to read. It’s also the truth. There’s a reason many of us are hesitant to pray for patience, right?

And yet, waiting is also a part of life. On average, we spend 47 days of our lives just…waiting. (Anyone who dealt with the CCC bridge lighting project over the summer knows all too well just how it feels to wait.)

Waiting takes patience, yes. It also takes courage. And faith. Sometimes, we have to wait out a storm, whether literal or more of a challenging stormy season of life. We have to shift our expectations from what we had planned to waiting to see what God’s got in store. (Spoiler alert: It’s always better! God’s plans and timing are perfect, even if they involve waiting.)

Just because a specific door isn’t open or a particular opportunity isn’t available at this moment doesn’t mean that God isn’t moving. Even when we are waiting, God is working! So, no matter what you’re facing, trust that God is in control – even in the waiting.

God’s timing is always the right timing. Our Fall fundraiser may not have happened in our originally planned timing, but we’ve seen the goodness of God, even in the waiting. Thank you for your generosity! God is using you to make a difference every day.
