It’s school time!
My kids and I have decided that we are going to listen to a wake up song every morning to get us up and moving for school!
What song is it? Citizen Way’s new one – WaveWalker! We chose this one because of these words:
“When the devil tries to shake me, I just pray harder. Even in my darkest hour. Got Holy Ghost power. When I keep my eyes upon You, Jesus – I’m a wavewalker!”
Speaking of shaking… that reminds me of something that just happened a few weeks ago!
(I often wonder just how many times throughout the day God tries to get our attention, but the distractions of this life are too loud to hear what He’s saying. Thankful for this sweet moment of revelation.)
A couple of Fridays ago, I was invited by my sweet friend to attend a barre class at the gym. Barre as in a ballerina bar that you hold onto that is used when learning ballet moves!
(This is NOT in my comfort zone!)
I have NEVER in my life taken a barre class or dancing before and did NOT have any clue what to expect… but I said yes anyway! It actually turned out to be a really awesome class, and I’m glad I got to spend it next to not one, not two, but three sweet friends. One thing the instructor of the class said has been on my heart since then. She said “The more burning/shaking you endure while doing the work out, that’s the point when your muscles begin to change and grow.“
This got me thinking…
Even though odds may be against you and you feel like giving up, hold onto this hope! The more things you withstand in this life that get thrown at you and the more you remain strong and faithful, the more your relationship with Christ grows and develops.
Let’s be real: the burning/shaking is NOT pleasant in the least bit! It is painful, miserable and you feel beat up afterwards! But this process is necessary to get you to where you want/need to be physically as well as spiritually.
(Acts of the Apostles 16:26 NLT)
“Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”
The next time you are going through a “shaking” in life, praise the Lord through it cause that means strength, growth & freedom is coming!
