In the United States, more than one out of six children lives in a food insecure household, which means they do not always know where they will find their next meal. One in six people in Louisiana is struggling with hunger. An elderly neighbor, a child, a classmate, a coworker or member of your church – someone you know is hungry.
For over 30 years, Second Harvest Food Bank has been feeding hope in south Louisiana. Today, Second Harvest Food Bank distributes more than 22 million meals through a network of 240 non-profit member agencies and provides emergency food assistance to more than 263,000 people, including nearly 82,000 children and 40,000 seniors. Second Harvest Food Bank is leading the fight against hunger through food distribution, advocacy, education and disaster response.
