LifeSongs celebrated Christmas in July with the great summer sno-ball fight against hunger!

Thanks so much for your contributions to the Summer Fun Food Drive! We were able to drop off the goods at Second Harvest.

Each pound of food provides one meal.

581 lbs. of food were collected (in just 3 hours!) and will provide 581 meals to our community. Thank you!

In Louisiana, one out of five children are struggling with hunger. And many of these have less access to healthy meals and snacks over the summer, when school is not in session. One in six people in Louisiana are food insecure, which means they do not always know where they will find their next meal. An elderly neighbor, a child’s classmate, a coworker, a member of your church – someone you know is hungry.

For over 30 years, Second Harvest Food Bank has been feeding hope in south Louisiana. Today, Second Harvest Food Bank distributes more than 22 million meals through a network of 240 non-profit member agencies and provides emergency food assistance to more than 263,000 people, including nearly 82,000 children and 40,000 seniors. Second Harvest Food Bank is leading the fight against hunger through food distribution, advocacy, education and disaster response.
