Be Faithful, Be Flexible..
That’s a phrase I heard one of our local school principals share with his students and staff as he tried to encourage them through all of the “ what if’s” this school year.
I imagine he originally uttered those words to himself numerous times before he decided to share. I mean, what else can you literally do other than surrender to the fact that this season for all of us has been consistently inconsistent…
Surrender.. I like that word. I know most think of surrendering in regards to war like dropping your weapons , putting down your shields forsaking your current leadership and bowing down to another. To me, I don’t think of it as giving up , personally surrendering looks like setting aside all the ways I protect myself and my pride. As well as giving up attempts of self preservation.
Surrendering doesn’t come easy, we all want to have our worlds ordered, even if we say we are flexible, we would never choose to not have structure ..
Psalm 46:10
Be still and know that I am God..
God’s truth is that His strength is made perfect in our weakness. When we surrender ourselves, our will, our desires to Him , He is able to more fully reveal Himself to us and we are more able to fully experience Him.
Isn’t that a cool way to think about surrendering? Being still in order to know God. Surrender yourself in order that you may know that I am God …
God Is…
Your refuge, your strength; your present help in trouble; your comforter and King in uncertain times; your security; your center; your steadfast ruler; the Commander of theUniverse; the Lord of Hosts; the Victorious One; the One before whom every knee shall bow, on earth and in Heaven.
