Have you ever asked yourself “Why didn’t I do this sooner!?!”
I feel that way about LifeSongs Taste Test Thursdays! It’s a simple idea. Every Thursday during the morning show, we taste test different varieties of an item. And we score them. We’re only on week 2 and my pants are already getting tighter. But that’s not slowing us down!
Here are the results so far:
Week 1 – Pop Tarts
We had a tie for the #1 and #2 spots. Peanut Butter (which should really be called “Peanut Butter COOKIE”) and Cinnamon Roll. Both amazing.
We also had a tie for the #3 and #4 spots. Chocolate Chip and the classic Strawberry.
And guess what? We had a tie for the #5 and #6 spots. Wildlicious Wild Cherry and Chocolate Peanut Butter.
The only one we really did not like was the Chocolatey Strawberry. It came in last. In fact, there are still some leftover in our break room. All the other flavors have been devoured and this one still remains.
Week 2 – Oreos
This week I realized just how genius this idea is. I refuse to give any Oreo a low score. They get points just for being a cookie!
Surprisingly our #1 Oreo was the Chocolate. It’s not one of the more adventurous flavors, but it is really good.
Coming in at #2 was the S’mores flavor. I didn’t really think these tasted like Smores, but they were super good.
There was a tie for the #3 and #4 spots. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and Mint. I liked the Reese’s PB Cup, but I thought they should have just used the Reese’s Peanut Butter on the Oreo cookie. Instead it’s the entire Reese’s PB Cup (including the chocolate) on the Oreo cookie. The Peanut Butter flavor kind of got lost. Mint though… It has long been my favorite Oreo. I do really like mint flavored items. And the Mint Oreo did not disappoint. It’s a good breakfast Oreo (if you’re into that), because it’s refreshing.
Cookie Dough came in 5th. I’m not a fan of cookie dough flavored items anyway. There’s a very specific taste that I dislike. And this Oreo has that. So if you like Cookie Dough, you’ll probably love the Oreo Cookie Dough. And coming in last, in the #6 spot was Birthday Cake. While these smelled like birthday cake, they didn’t really taste like birthday cake. They just tasted extremely sweet. (And I’m not saying I wouldn’t eat them if they were the only Oreos around, but I wouldn’t buy them.)
Do you have a favorite Pop Tart or Oreo?
And what would you suggest we try on the next Taste Test Thursday?
And now I’m craving Oreos….
