I will admit, when I began working at LifeSongs over 15 years ago, I wished things were different. I wished there was an organization that could carry the financial burden of LifeSongs. I wished we didn’t have to ask you, our listeners, to financially support this radio ministry. Because let’s face it, it’s awkward to ask people for money. But through the years, God has changed my heart. He has helped me see things differently.
LifeSongs is so much more than a radio station. It is a radio ministry. I am always amazed and humbled to hear how God is using this ministry. When just the right song plays at just the right time. Or when the right message is heard at the right moment. That can only be God. Those of us who work at LifeSongs are honored to do so. And it would be selfish to not allow others to be involved. And it would also be detrimental to this ministry. Because that’s not the way God intended it.
God did not intend us to be self-sufficient. He intended us to need one another. He intended us to love and support one another.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 says “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.”
Thank you for lifting up LifeSongs. Through volunteering, through praying, and through giving to Spring Share-a-Thon last week. Thank you. We pray that God uses this ministry to lift you up as well. As mentioned in Proverbs 27:17, we hope our relationship will be as “Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
